The chrome covering on my stock wheels has pretty much all peeled off, so I want to put winter tires on these wheels and put the current 255x45R18 summer tires on new wheels. I was looking at a 18x9 wheel with 40mm offset, and according to this website and entering 255/45R18 with 48mm offset and 255/45R18 with 40mm offset
shows only a .31 inch difference, yet the supplier says they do not fit.
